Signature

Signature - a UK awarding body recognised by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) offering a wide range of high quality nationally accredited qualifications from basic to advanced levels. These include British Sign Language and other forms of communication commonly used by Deaf, deafened, hard of hearing and deafblind people.

Deaffest 2014 (Deaf Film and TV Festival)

An opportunity to celebrate the achievements of Deaf people in the area of Film. The weekend has a full program of various media related activities, including: an awards ceremony and entertainment night.

Dates 6th - 8th May 2016

Location: The Lighthouse Media Centre, Wolverhampton.

The Assistance Dog

Did you know 2008 was the year of the assistance dog? 5 charities have formed a group called 'Assistance Dogs UK' (Guide Dogs for the Blind Association, Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, Dogs for the Disabled, Canine Partners and Support Dogs) and used 2008 as a promotion year.  Find out more on their website:

Coventry Resource Centre for the Blind


Coventry Resource Centre for the blind supports people from all over Coventry offering a variety of services including assisted shopping, IT support, Art and Craft sessions, Music Sessions and Social groups. They also sell low vision aids, tactile aids, talking aids and large print and Braille items.

Cath is now making and selling cards and jewellery to raise funds for Coventry Resource Centre for the Blind.

Toastmasters (Toastmasters International - TMI)

Toastmasters International is a voluntary organisation, all members are there to improve speaking and presentation skills.  It is a safe supportive learning environment with a friendly atmosphere.

The TMI club that serves the Coventry  area is called "Godiva Speakers," so called because of Coventry's History.

Meetings are every 2nd, 4th and if there is one, 5th Tuesday evening of the month at 7:15 for a 7:30 start.

Come along and see for yourself.

Meetings usually last around two hours depending on the agenda.
